North South Solo expedition

11 Nov 2011 - 11 May 2012 in North Pole / South Pole|

This year I will attempt to be the first person in history to ski solo – unsupported and unaided to both the South Geographic and the North Geographic Pole’s consecutively.

It's been classed by the patron Sir Ranulph Fiennes as “the toughest journey on the planet”.

For me this is more than just a long walk on ice. It's also a great opportunity to raise interest and awareness about our planet and the risks of climate change, and hopefully to inspire you to do something about it.So yes, I'm asking you to sponsor me... but no, I'm not asking you to give me your spare change: I'm asking you to create change.

Follow the instructions on the right, browse the DoActions and find one (or more) that suits you, then make your pledge(s).

Some are really easy, others take a bit more effort. They're all about simple ways to start living more sustainably, and all end up saving some CO2. The DoNation calculates the CO2 savings and publishes them here on my page.

You only pledge to do your chosen action for two months and all the information you need is provided here on The DoNation, making it really easy to complete. At the end of the two months you'll be asked how you got on, and at that point your 'donation' is confirmed.

So please, get doing - it'll really spur me on through those long tough days on ice!

Thank you!

Mark
