3 ladies, 5 months, 6000km, one tent, a multi-fuel camping stove and countless meals as we cross the greatest mountain ranges of the world on our bicycles.

This self-powered adventure will take us from Kazakhstan, through Kyrgyzstan, China, Pakistan and India, to follow the Himalaya into Nepal. Slogging up to passes of 5,000m, battling the dangers of altitude sickness and local traffic.

We will be collecting recipes on route, to share in our blog - we hope to capture the personalities and flavours of moments and connections. We will be exploring the story of food in each country we visit, sharing the joys and frustrations of food.

So why are we telling you about this?
Climate change will only add to the pressures on agriculture and food security in Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan and Northern India. However, climate change is one issue which needs our action, rather than necessarily our cash. Which is why we are taking on this DoNation challenge - a new kind of sponsorship that replaces cash with action.

It is a brilliant idea...I'm not asking you to give me your change: I'm asking you to CREATE CHANGE.

HOW IT WORKS:
Browse the DoActions and find one (or more) that suits you, then make your pledge(s). Some are really easy; others take a bit more effort.

Sponsor us by doing your washing at 30′, or eating a little less meat, or cycling to work as we cycle up mountains… There are plenty of creative actions, so there will definitely be at least one you can take on.
You only pledge to do your chosen action for two months and all the information you need is provided here on The DoNation, making it really easy to complete. You'll receive a few helpful reminders and then at the end of the two months you'll be asked to confirm how you got on.
