Marike's Commute: Cycling to Paris for COP21

27th November 2015 in London- Paris|

Small actions really do add up to make a big difference.

From December 9th to 11th I will cycle from London to Paris to take part in the demonstration for the protection of our planet against climate change. This demonstration will take place on the final day of the COP21 talks in Paris, showing our concern about the topic and hopes for the summit.

Whilst I am cycling along, you can make a pledge to change your behavior over the next two months in ever so small or hugely substantial ways, to reduce carbon-emission. Combating climate change does not have to cost a lot of money, concerted effort to take little steps can make a huge difference!

I pledge to refrain from flying the distance from London to Cologne for at least half of my trips home over the next year, opting to take the train instead. (or cycle? we will see....).

Thanks for your support!
Marike
