Product Analytics Consultant [Contract]

Do Nation is at a pivotal moment of growth and we need an experienced product analytics consultant who can help us to radically improve the set up of our product analytics, helping us to make better decisions, faster, when it comes to enhancing our web-based climate action platform.

Why we need you

We have a sophisticated product that has been developed over 8+ years, using a variety of tools to measure user analytics (GA, Sendgrid, Active Campaign, Typeform, and bespoke impact reporting dashboards).

As we enter a significant stage of development, we would like some help in setting these tools up so that our team can more easily and readily access valuable insights into what’s working and what isn’t, helping us to radically improve the design and impact of our platform.

What you'll be doing

  • Taking direct responsibility for the design and implementation of our product analytics, giving our team hands-on access to the data they need.
  • Working with our product team to define events and the architecture of our data.
  • Setting up engaging and user friendly dashboards that can be used internally as well as with our platform partners.
  • Up-skilling the team in product data and analytics, helping us to form best practices and gather performance data to support feature development and reviews.
  • Liaising with engineers to keep making sure we collect the right data to produce relevant business insights.
  • Helping us identify key opportunities in the data and insights into our users.
  • We anticipate this being an ongoing project, while there will be a more intense period of work during the set-up, we are aiming for an approach of continuous improvement, with you returning regularly as the product requirements evolve, helping us to interpret the data and update the analytics architecture.

Ideally we'd like someone who has

  • Multiple years of experience in product or growth analytics, preferably in a fast moving SaaS company.
  • Confidence in working autonomously, leading on the project and telling us what you need to get the job done. You’ll have a strong sense of ownership for this project.
  • Strong understanding of the key tools we use: Google Analytics, SendGrid, and Active Campaign. We’re also looking at implementing Amplitude and so experience with that, or similar, would be valuable too.
  • Experience working with start-ups from the ground up
  • Excellent SQL skills
  • Knowledge of data governance, data protection and GDPR
  • Experience in differing dashboards for B2B and B2C data sets
  • Last but not least - you must have an interest in the challenges and opportunities of sustainable living and sustainable business - this is our lifeblood.

About Do Nation:

Do Nation is a small organisation aiming to have a big impact. We’re on a mission to help millions of people to take meaningful climate action, while helping them to form healthy, environmentally friendly habits, both at home and at work. We do this through an online platform where anyone can either make a pledge or run a campaign to raise pledges - pledges to do things like cycling to work, wasting less food, or using reusable coffee cups.

Over the last few years, demand for our services has increased rapidly, leading to a customer base ranging from innocent drinks to The EU; The Earthshot Prize to Siemens Plc. Earlier this year we partnered with Count Us In, an ambitious global project aiming to encourage 1 billion people to take climate action by 2030, which is further fuelling demand for Do Nation.

We’re a small, nimble, and committed team, scattered across the UK and France. We strongly believe in the potential of our unique model to create a wide scale, meaningful impact on one of the most important issues of our time, and we’re hungry to deliver on that.

This is an unusual opportunity to work with a small founding team at an exciting stage of rapid but organic and customer-fuelled growth. While we are commercially focused, social impact is the fuel that drives us - and as such, we are proud to be a certified B Corp. We’re a fully remote team working across England, Scotland and France.
